"The Whistler" was an American radio program running for a total of 13 years from May 16, 1942 until September 22, 1955. It was one of the most popular mystery drama's of its' time. Signal Oil Company sponsored the program. The marketing catch phrase was: "Let that whistle be your signal for the Signal Oil program, The Whistler."

Martin and Lewis made promotional appearances on various programs prior to the air of their own show. The Martin & Lewis Show went on the air on April 3, 1949, still searching for a sponsor. The network spent $10,000 per show, paying each star $1,000 a week. After a riotous movie and further difficulty finding a radio sponsor for their show, The Martin & Lewis Show went off the air after broadcasting what they thought was their last old time radio show on January 30, 1950. However, they couldn't keep these two down for long, because they were rip roaring and ready to go on another self-titled radio program just over a year later.

Thru the Bible is a 30-minute Bible study radio program that takes the listener through the entire Bible in just 5 years, going back and forth between the Old and New Testaments. This Bible study program has been aired on radio stations in the U.S. since 1967, and is now being aired in over 200 countries around the globe.
Dr. McGee's greatest pastorate was at the historic, Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles, where he served from 1949 to 1970. There he began a daily radio broadcast called "High Noon Bible Class" on a single station.
